The Alexander Palm, also known as Archontophoenix alexandrae ( Alexandra palm, King Alexander palm, King palm, Northern bangalow palm; F.Muell.) is native to Queensland, Australia. It's a tall palm that is widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions of the world.

Leaves:  Pinnately compound, reduplicate; twisted 90° near tip.

Climate: Young Archontophoenix trees will not tolerate frost, but adult plants may stand 28 F

Inflorescence:  Inflorescences up to 70 cm long

Fruits:  Pinkish Red

Pests or diseases:  may be damaged by spider mites.

Uses:  Ornamental tree

Bad Habits:  Drying winds can burn foliage.  Irrigate during prolonged drought.
