Areca or Butterfly Palms are widely planted throughout sub-tropical and tropical climates. Of the tribe Areceae, and subfamily Arecoideae, it is also known by the botanic name Chrysalidocarpus lutescens. It grows quickly and is often grown as a shrub or hedge.
